Job summary

Kforce Inc. is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer for a growing, family-owned food distribution and processing company in Boston, MA.

The CFO will oversee all finance functions, drive scalability, and partner with leadership to optimize inventory and operating performance. The role demands 15+ years of senior finance experience in inventory-intensive industries, CPA/MBA preferred, and a track record of leading high-performing teams in fast-growth environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including experience as a CFO or VP of Finance.
• Strong background in manufacturing, food processing, distribution, CPG, or other inventory-intensive industries.
• Experience in privately held or family-owned business environments preferred.
• Deep understanding of FP&A, cash flow, inventory accounting, and operational finance.
• Proven ability to partner with operations and drive performance improvements.
• Strong leadership, building and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all finance and accounting functions for the organization.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and KPI reporting.
• Partner with ownership and operational leaders to drive profitable growth.
• Lead cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and working capital optimization.
• Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic decisions.
• Drive process improvements across finance, manufacturing, and distribution.
• Partner with operations to optimize inventory management and supply chain performance.
• Support expansion initiatives, capital investments, and scaling efforts.
• Manage auditors, banks, insurers, and advisors.
• Lead and develop a finance team of six professionals.
