Kforce Inc. is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer for a growing, family-owned food distribution and processing company in Boston, MA.

The CFO will oversee all finance functions, drive scalability, and partner with leadership to optimize inventory and operating performance. The role demands 15+ years of senior finance experience in inventory-intensive industries, CPA/MBA preferred, and a track record of leading high-performing teams in fast-growth environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including experience as a CFO or VP of Finance.
• Strong background in manufacturing, food processing, distribution, CPG, or other inventory-intensive industries.
• Experience in privately held or family-owned business environments preferred.
• Deep understanding of FP&A, cash flow, inventory accounting, and operational finance.
• Proven ability to partner with operations and drive performance improvements.
• Strong leadership, building and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

About the Opportunity

A growing, family-owned distribution and food processing company with approximately $50M in annual revenue is seeking a strategic and hands‑on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This organization has a strong market presence and is entering an exciting phase of expansion, creating an opportunity for a finance leader to help drive operational excellence, scalability, and long-term growth. Reporting directly to ownership, the CFO will oversee all aspects of finance, accounting, treasury, reporting, forecasting, and operational planning. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic leadership and day‑to‑day execution, with experience in manufacturing, food and beverage, CPG, distribution, or other inventory-intensive environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred
• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including experience as a CFO, Vice President of Finance
• Strong background within manufacturing, food processing, distribution, consumer products (CPG), or other inventory-intensive industries
• Experience managing financial operations within a privately held or family-owned business environment preferred
• Deep understanding of financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, inventory accounting, and operational finance
• Proven ability to partner with operations and drive business performance improvements
• Strong leadership skills with experience building and developing high‑performing teams
• Experience working in fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environments
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
