Job summary

The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, FL seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations, long-range planning, investment oversight, and risk management as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team.

The CFO will modernize financial systems, oversee budgeting and reporting, manage endowment and capital project financing, and partner with the Board and senior leadership to guide the institution’s next growth phase.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in finance, accounting, financial management, and strategic planning.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree and/or CPA preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit sector and arts organizations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Director & CEO and ELT to develop financial strategies for mission and growth.
• Lead financial operations: budgeting, forecasting, accounting, reporting, audit, tax, cash management, compliance.
• Oversee endowment, investments, reserves, banking, and debt obligations.
• Support capital campaigns with financial modeling and long-term planning.
• Modernize financial systems and reporting through automation and improved processes.
• Collaborate on compensation planning and workforce budgeting with HR and ops.
• Recruit and develop a high-performing finance team.
