Job summary

Prospera Executive Ltd. is engaged to recruit a CFO for a PE-backed, multi-site distribution business in the United States.

The CFO will report to the CEO and serve as a strategic partner, owning numbers, exit readiness, and leadership development across finance and operations. The ideal candidate has CFO experience in PE-backed settings, a hands-on approach to modelling and reporting, and deep knowledge of technical accounting.

Qualifications

• Current or former CFO with PE backed experience and a proven track record of leading a sponsor exit.
• Hands-on operator who builds models and reports personally, not relying on a large team.
• Strong understanding of technical accounting.
• Credible with a demanding Board and able to partner closely with the CEO.
• Experience in distribution, wholesale or multi-site industrial businesses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as strategic partner and sounding board to the CEO, providing financial clarity and commercial decision support.
• Rebuild the financial model and own budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting.
• Personally deliver investor-grade reporting, including weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and 13 week cash flow.
• Lead preparation for a sponsor exit, working with the Board, investment team and advisers through the process.
• Coach and develop an experienced accounting team, embedding robust controls and technical rigour.
• Support and mentor operational and commercial leaders as the business scales.
