Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region is seeking a Chief Financial Officer who will partner with the executive team to guide financial strategy, planning, and analysis, focusing on bottom-line performance.

The CFO will lead budgeting, forecasting, audits, risk management, and compliance, while developing relationships with the Board and external partners to support the mission.

This is a permanent, full-time role in Wisconsin with compensation up to $90,000 annually plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; 7–10 years of related experience; non‑profit experience preferred.
• Exhibits strong leadership, management, and supervisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrate analytical abilities and present financial insights clearly.
• Make sound judgments and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Establish priorities and manage tasks with attention to detail.
• Manage financial resources including budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with high integrity.

Responsibilities

• Manage organization’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and auditing.
• Oversee preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements and reports to stakeholders.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting.
• Handle bidding, proposals, and contracts for third-party subcontractors (excluding construction).
• Develop and implement the financial strategy, including long-term planning and risk management.
• Partner with senior leadership to provide strategic financial analysis to drive decisions.
• Administer risk management activities, internal controls, insurance, and compliance with standards.
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding financial and grant-related functions.
• Direct the Finance team and develop staff, fostering cross-department collaboration.
• Establish relationships with Board, affiliate personnel, partners and stakeholders.
