Job summary

Hermann Park Conservancy in Houston seeks a strategic CFO to lead financial planning, reporting, and governance for a growing nonprofit organization supporting Hermann Park. The role guides capital campaigns, endowment management, and day-to-day financial operations, ensuring long-term sustainability.

The CFO will partner with the CEO and Board, build robust financial systems, and drive disciplined growth while maintaining transparency and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit finance and capital campaigns is highly desirable.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for the executive team and the board.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial, treasury, and accounting operations including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting.
• Lead annual budgeting in collaboration with the CEO, aligning with strategic priorities.
• Manage audit processes and engagement with external auditors; oversee investments and endowment activities.
• Guide financial planning for capital campaigns and major projects; ensure governance and compliance across finance functions.
