Job summary

DISH is a San Francisco-based nonprofit delivering permanent supportive housing and serving residents with complex needs. We seek a CFO to lead the organization’s financial strategy, partnering with the CEO, leadership team, and the Board to strengthen programs and long-term sustainability.

The CFO will guide multi-year planning, forecasting, and risk management, bring GAAP excellence, and build analytical capabilities.

Qualifications

• Significant senior financial leadership experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and accounting foundation with risk management exposure.
• Ability to translate complex financial data for non-financial leaders.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership and Boards in nonprofit/publicly funded settings.
• Experience leading finance teams and navigating organizational growth or change.

Responsibilities

• Develop a multi-year financial sustainability plan aligned with funding and program goals.
• Lead planning, forecasting, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and audit processes.
• Strengthen forecasting dashboards and financial analysis for informed decisions.
• Mentor the finance team and collaborate with programs, HR, and operations.
• Ensure compliance with government contracts, grants, and regulatory standards.
