Job summary

HomeFront, a leading anti-poverty and anti-homelessness nonprofit in Central New Jersey, seeks a Chief Financial Officer to shape its financial future. This is not a traditional nonprofit CFO role; the CFO will join the Executive Leadership Team to build systems, talent, and infrastructure for growth.

The role requires strategic leadership, collaboration with the CEO and Board, and oversight of budgeting, risk, and capital planning to support HomeFront's mission and impact.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience.
• Strong background in accounting, financial planning, forecasting, and governance.
• Experience leading teams and partnering with executive leadership.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
• CPA designation preferred and nonprofit leadership experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial strategy and long-range planning.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial stewardship.
• Direct accounting and financial operations.
• Coordinate audit, tax, regulatory, and cybersecurity needs.
• Manage enterprise risk, insurance, and compliance oversight.
• Lead banking, treasury, and investment advisor relationships.
• Guide capital planning and organizational investments.
• Build and develop the finance team.
• Partner with executive leadership and board committees.
