Job summary

Abacus Group is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for their Manhattan, NY office to lead all financial operations in a clothing company environment. The role requires 12–20 years of senior accounting/finance experience and CPA certification, with MBA as a plus.

The CFO will manage debt facilities, banking relationships, forecasting, and internal controls, while partnering with cross-functional teams to align financial and business objectives and ensure audit readiness.

Qualifications

• 12–20 years of senior-level accounting/finance experience.
• Experience with lenders and banks.
• Industry experience in inventory-heavy businesses.
• Combo/private sector experience.
• CPA is required; MBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate debt facilities, revolving credit lines, term loans, and financing programs.
• Monitor lender compliance, covenants, borrowing base reporting, and related requirements.
• Optimize working capital through A/R, inventory management, and liquidity planning.
• Prepare forecasts, cash flow analyses, and executive reporting for senior leadership.
• Direct accounting, payables/receivables, and financial close activities.
• Strengthen internal controls and financial processes for accurate reporting and audit readiness.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning initiatives.
• Develop financial models to evaluate profitability and capital investments.
• Identify cost-saving initiatives and margin improvement opportunities across operations.
