Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA) is hiring a Chief Financial Officer for our CAAS practice in Houston, TX. The role involves performing CFO functions for client accounting teams, guiding financial policy, and driving strategic planning.

The successful candidate has 8+ years of related experience, strong project and client management skills, and a CPA is preferred. Expect a hybrid, flexible work arrangement with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relative work experience as an Assistant Controller, Controller, or equivalent.
• Project management and client management experience preferred but not required.
• Bachelor's degree is required; combination of experience and training may be accepted.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks Online highly preferred.
• Travel and hybrid/flexible working environment; may work at client locations or in the office as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform CFO functions as part of the client's accounting services team.
• Identify and implement best practices to add value to the client.
• Work with client to set financial policy and participate in strategy.
• Drive capital planning, risk management, KPI analysis, and board interactions.
• Lead financial administration, planning, and budgeting.
• Oversee long-term budget planning and cost management.
• Monitor budgets and present operational metrics.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing financial accounting.
• Coordinate audit activities.
• Effectively manage multiple client engagements and build client relationships.
• Develop external business network and act as a service and industry thought leader.
