Job summary

Belmont College is seeking a Director of Finance/Chief Financial Officer to lead the Business Office, oversee accounting, reporting and financial strategy at the Main Campus. This role directs budgeting, cash management and internal controls, ensuring accurate, timely financial statements.

The CFO will coordinate annual audits, supervise staff, and work with College leadership to maintain GASB/GAAP compliance, optimizing financial operations and governance.

Qualifications

• Considerable experience in accounting procedures and supervisory capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Proficiency with administrative accounting software systems and spreadsheets; Jenzabar and Infomaker skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the business office team to meet college goals.
• Direct supervision of accounting assistants; train and evaluate staff.
• Prepare cash flow projections and budget for the business office.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies in line with GAAP and GASB and college policy.
• Coordinate annual fiscal year audit with external firm and ensure compliance.
• Maintain chart of accounts and perform monthly reconciliations.
