Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC is seeking a Category Manager to support category initiatives, manage local assortment, and strengthen supplier relationships within a retail/distribution environment. The role collaborates with sales, planners, brokers, and customer service to drive company goals and optimize pricing and promotions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in a retail/wholesale setting, with strong Excel, negotiation, and cross-functional skills to lead local category

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform essential job functions.
• 3+ years of experience in retail, wholesale or distribution environments.
• Experience managing category initiatives and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Execute Category Management and other initiatives within assigned categories.
• Support supplier relationships and local assortment management to achieve company goals.
• Communicate with planners, suppliers, brokers, sales team and customer service.
• Drive local supplier negotiations and participate in Earned Income programs.
• Facilitate training and provide input to Sales Specialists as required.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management on market cost price changes and GP reviews.
