Job summary

Allied Resources Technical Consultants seeks an experienced Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for highly technical materials and services, ensuring quality, reliability and cost-effective solutions that support business operations.

You will develop category strategies, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, drive inventory cost reductions, and lead cross-functional initiatives with engineers and operations to align long-term needs with sourcing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years in Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Category Management.
• Experience managing supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and sourcing strategies for technical or complex categories.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive measurable business results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category, sourcing, and supplier management strategies for technical materials and services.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier relationships, negotiations, and performance management.
• Partner with business leaders, engineers, and key stakeholders to understand long-term operational needs and align sourcing strategies accordingly.
• Lead contract negotiations and implement initiatives related to inventory optimization, cost reduction, supplier diversity, labor, and e-business solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement across supply chain processes and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Resolve complex commercial and supplier-related issues in collaboration with Supply Operations and internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate market trends and supplier capabilities to ensure a reliable and competitive supply base.
