Job summary

Luminant Generation Company LLC is seeking an Associate Category Manager to develop and manage strategic category strategies within Vistra's supply chain. You will lead supplier relationships, negotiate across functions, and deliver year-over-year value through spend analysis and cost improvements.

The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, contracting processes, and collaboration across multiple spend categories, with opportunities to contribute to supplier diversity initiatives and process

Qualifications

• 3+ years category management or 5 years sourcing experience.
• Ability to define a simple category, perform spend/usage/market analysis, and develop strategy and benefit analysis.
• Expert negotiator who can lead cross-functional negotiation teams.
• Understanding of contract terms and redline contracting process.
• Knowledge of financial statements and total cost methods (e.g., NPV, should-cost).
• Skilled in project management, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Bachelor’s level education or higher is preferred; certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement key category strategies for high impact, usage and/or spend areas.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships for category responsibilities.
• Develop performance metrics and hold suppliers accountable for deliverables.
• Initiate, plan and execute strategic business reviews for key categories.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with objectives.
• Support and promote Vistra’s Supplier Diversity program.
• Track spend category performance and value realization.
• Lead supplier selection and contract awards across categories.
