Job summary

Vizient, Inc. seeks a Category Management Director to lead strategy for portfolio categories, guiding sourcing, contracting, and value analysis with cross-functional teams. The role requires deep market insight, stakeholder facilitation, and executive-level communication to drive cost optimization and value realization.

The incumbent will manage complex portfolios, collaborate with clinicians and operational leaders, and leverage AI fluency to enhance decision-making while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in category management or strategic sourcing.
• Proven ability to influence executive, clinical, operational, and supplier stakeholders.
• Experience leading stakeholder committees and cross-functional decision-making.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience with complex supplier agreements.
• Advanced analytical skills to translate data into strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead category leadership and strategy for assigned portfolios.
• Direct end-to-end strategic sourcing, RFI/RFPs, and contract negotiations.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions and present recommendations to executives.
• Mentor and guide cross-functional teams across analytics, implementation, and value analysis.
• Analyze spend and market data to drive savings, standardization, and value delivery.
