Job summary

Valley Vet Supply seeks a Senior Category Manager to own strategic product categories across Equine, Farm, and Pet lines. You will drive a high-performance mix, expand private label, optimize pricing, and use data analytics to protect margins and grow market share.

Responsibilities include P&L ownership, competitive strategy, digital merchandising, and lifecycle management from sourcing to liquidation, with cross-functional leadership and occasional trade-show activity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Animal Science, or related field.
5+ years in Category Management, Merchandising, or Buying.
Deep experience in DTC E-commerce is mandatory.
Knowledge of the Animal Health, Equine, or Farm industry is highly preferred.
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, lookups, modeling and analysis).
Experience with BI visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Sigma).
Familiarity with modern ERPs and Pricing Intelligence software.
Strong negotiation tactics, analytical mindset, and the ability to pivot strategies quickly based on market data.

Responsibilities

P&L ownership: manage sales revenue, gross margin, and inventory turns.
Competitive strategy to compete with major e-commerce and retail players while preserving brand authority.
Digital merchandising with the e-commerce team to improve online presentation, searchability, and conversion.
