Job summary

FedEx Freight in the United States seeks a senior procurement professional to lead enterprise-wide category management strategies, spanning strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, diversity, and risk initiatives. This role develops sourcing strategies using the company’s methodology and collaborates with stakeholders across the business.

You will negotiate with suppliers, drive category expertise, and guide internal projects while ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline.
• Five (5) years work experience in sourcing, financial analysis, or related field, a related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
• Excellent knowledge of project management, current technology tools/advances, and database/analytical tools.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic evaluation of category/spend information, benchmarking, and makes recommendations for sourcing strategy and supplier scorecard criteria.
• Develops category expertise, category management expertise, and market contacts, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders in all aspects of sourcing.
• Leads internal projects/programs.
• Participates in supplier negotiations, supporting senior staff, and leadership.
• Acts with authority with suppliers, business stakeholders, Finance, and Legal.
• Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
