Job summary

Foodbuy, based in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Category Manager to own category strategy and member strategy, and to drive purchasing income for defined categories. You will negotiate, align customer needs with program opportunities, and foster supplier relationships across cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong data analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and the ability to present insights to stakeholders. Travel up to 5% is expected, and the team values flexibility and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in supply chain, category, finance, or ESG related field.
• Strong negotiations experience.
• Presentation experience and ability to analyze complex data sets.
• Budgets and forecasting knowledge; proficient with Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive category strategy for assigned categories delivering strong financial results and opportunities.
• Prepare analyses, communicate sourcing trends, and present results.
• Responsible for system catalog clean-up audits to ensure mapping accuracy.
• Research market trends, analyze suppliers, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Participate in vendor management and contract performance resolutions.
• Ensure data integrity and cross-functional term-set management for pricing and volume.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, including contract updates.
• Oversee budgeting, contract attributes, benchmarking, pricing, and product recommendations.
