Job summary

FIXX Energy in Smyrna, Tennessee is seeking a Category Buyer for raw materials to develop and execute global sourcing strategies for electrode materials, separators, and related components, driving TCO, supplier performance, and supply continuity.

You will collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to optimize cost, quality, and delivery while maintaining ESG and compliance. Domestic and international travel is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline.
5+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management experience.
Experience sourcing battery materials, renewable energy procurement, ESS components, automotive, energy storage, electronics, or advanced manufacturing commodities preferred.
Strong experience managing global suppliers and international sourcing activities.
Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and long-term supply contracts.
Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
Contract negotiation and commercial management expertise.

Responsibilities

Develop global category strategies for electrode and separator materials.
Lead RFQ, RFI, and RFP processes to identify best-value sourcing opportunities.
Drive supplier performance metrics including cost, quality, delivery, and innovation.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, capacity commitments, and LTAs.
Create, manage, and maintain purchase orders for electrode, separator, and battery material commodities.
Monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and pricing accuracy.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Planning, and Finance.
Travel domestically and internationally as needed for supplier management and site visits.
