Job summary

NFI in Camden, NJ seeks a Freight Broker to lead the carrier lifecycle for the Brokerage division, including sourcing, onboarding, negotiating, and managing strategic carrier partnerships to achieve operational, service, and profitability goals.

You will own carrier development and operations, analyze lane performance, negotiate rates, and collaborate with sales and capacity teams to optimize network capacity and service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required (Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in transportation brokerage, carrier management, or logistics operations.
• Demonstrated experience in rate negotiation, margin management, and carrier sourcing strategy.
• Market knowledge of truckload lanes and rates.
• Excellent communication, relationship management, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead carrier lifecycle for brokerage, including sourcing, onboarding, negotiating, and managing partnerships.
• Own carrier development, onboarding, compliance, and performance management.
• Analyze lane performance, rate trends, and provider scorecards to improve service and profitability.
• Negotiate contractual and spot rates within defined margins and profitability thresholds.
• Collaborate with sales, capacity, and operations to optimize network capacity and service levels.
