Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in capital planning, financial analysis, or risk management within banking or financial services.
• Knowledge of the Basel capital framework, secondary mortgage market, financial statements and business practices, Dodd Frank Stress Testing (DFAST) preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strategic thinking to engage with senior leadership and develop presentations.
• Ability to deliver positive change and build relationships across diverse stakeholders in complex organizations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating capital requirements for new products, business initiatives, and strategic projects; collaborate with business units to gather relevant data and ensure accurate capital assessment.
• Analyze impact of proposed changes in models and methodologies on capital requirements; liaise with model development and validation teams; prepare documentation and presentations summarizing capital impact for senior management and regulatory review.
• Support the review and update of capital planning and reporting policies to align with regulatory guidance and industry best practices; ensure governance frameworks reflect changes in business strategy and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in preparation of capital forecasts for all monthly, quarterly, annual and multi-year planning cycles across a range of scenarios including Annual Business Plan and regulatory stress testing.
• Perform capital metrics benchmarking vs. competitors and banks to advise management on capital optimization opportunities.
• Provide Capital related analytics and updates for key stakeholder sessions such as Capital Committee, Risk Committee, Board meetings, FHFA meetings.
• Assist management in strategic projects and support a wide range of analytical work to support Freddie Mac’s capital strategies.
