Job summary

JB Hunt in Lowell, Arkansas seeks a Capacity Procurement Representative II to negotiate carrier rates and manage carrier relationships for on-time freight execution. The role includes leveraging the Carrier360 platform to tender loads, track shipments, and support internal teams while mentoring junior staff.

The position requires 1-2 years of logistics experience and a strong ability to adapt to a dynamic, high-pressure environment. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 1-2 years experience in transportation/logistics or equivalent military experience and ability to work varying shifts.
• Demonstration of strong communication and relationship-building abilities; accuracy in data handling.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, or related field with 2-3 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Create strategies to negotiate with carriers for optimal purchase rates to meet revenue and margin goals.
• Act as liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers; manage freight in transit and ensure on-time pickup/delivery.
• Utilize Carrier360 Platform to tender loads, maintain records, and monitor shipments; onboard junior team members.
