Job summary

Hub Group in Oak Brook, IL seeks a Capacity Planning Analyst to optimize costs across rail, equipment, and truck plans to maximize margins while preserving service and efficiency.

You will analyze driver optimization, assign loads to company truck capacity in compliance with Hours of Service and DOT regulations, negotiate spot drayage rates, and coordinate with Account Management and Operations to ensure capacity coverage and on-time shipments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the transportation industry including routing and dispatching.
• High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Engineering, Logistics or related field.
• Above average knowledge of Operations, Hours of Service regulations, and DOT/State Regulations.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• Proficient in Windows-based programs, MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and manage costs associated with capacity planning to maximize margins.
• Assign loads to company truck capacity in compliance with safety regulations.
• Negotiate competitive spot rates for drayage services.
• Contribute to market plan and daily execution of inbound/outbound shipments.
• Re‑optimize loads to address delays and equipment failures to meet on-time service.
• Monitor performance against capacity plans and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with Account Management and Operations to confirm capacity coverage.
• Provide off‑hours support for site operations.
