Job summary

Emerald Technologies, an EMS provider, seeks a Buyer/Quoter Specialist in San Jose, CA. You will prepare customer quotes, source components, evaluate supplier quotes, and issue purchase orders while supporting cost-reduction initiatives and cross-functional teams to meet production demands.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in purchasing or procurement within manufacturing, strong Excel and ERP skills, and excellent analytical abilities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years prior experience in purchasing, quoting, procurement, or supply chain environments preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing required. EMS a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage customer quotes, including material pricing and cost analysis.
• Source materials, components, and services from approved suppliers.
• Request and evaluate supplier quotations, lead times, and pricing.
• Issue purchase orders and manage supplier communications.
• Support cost reduction and supplier negotiation initiatives.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and quoting data within ERP systems.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support customer and production needs.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and material availability.
• Assist with inventory, forecasting, and supply chain planning activities as needed.
