Job summary

Emerald Technologies in Saline, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer/Quoter to support customer quotations and procurement for PCBA manufacturing. You will source components, analyze BOMs and costs, and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing.

Collaborate with Sales, PM, Engineering, and Production to support new product introductions and ongoing production while driving cost savings, supplier performance, and data accuracy in ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, quoting, supply chain, or buyer/planner in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in EMS/PCBA or related electronics manufacturing environments preferred.
• Ability to interpret BOMs, engineering drawings, and component specifications.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer quotations by analyzing bills of materials (BOMs), material pricing, labor requirements, and manufacturing costs.
• Source electronic components, raw materials, and services from approved suppliers to support customer and production requirements.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate supplier quotations, lead times, pricing, and terms to achieve cost and delivery objectives.
• Create and manage purchase orders while maintaining effective communication with suppliers regarding order status and delivery commitments.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, costing, and quotation data within ERP/MRP systems.
• Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Production, and Sales teams to support new product introductions (NPI), customer quotes, and ongoing production activities.
• Monitor supplier performance, material availability, and supply chain risks while proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities and resolving shortages.
