Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Buyer/Planner to drive supply chain efficiency and support new product development in San Jose. You will collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to secure key components and negotiate with global suppliers.

You will plan and monitor inventory, optimize lead times for long lead-time components, and analyze supplier quotes to secure favorable pricing and terms while maintaining accuracy across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Materials Management, or related field.
1–2 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain operations.
Fast-paced environment with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience negotiating with suppliers in Asia.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency with ERP and Microsoft Office tools (SAP, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Technical knowledge in IC, PCBA components, optical transceivers, or NICs is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with PM & Engineering teams to support new product development (NPI).
Manage procurement processes, ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality materials and components.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors—especially in Asia—to obtain competitive pricing and terms.
Analyze supplier quotations based on product specifications and market conditions.
