Job summary

CSS in Midlothian is seeking a Buyer responsible for placing and authorizing purchase orders within assigned limits. You will expedite orders, track deliveries, and resolve shipping errors, while maintaining accurate records per guidelines.

Responsibilities include reviewing daily purchasing reports, maintaining inventory availability, and negotiating with suppliers to optimize costs and terms. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field is required.
• 1 year of purchasing experience in a supply chain environment.
• Knowledge of purchasing and inventory concepts, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Place and authorize purchase orders within assigned limits.
• Expedite orders and track deliveries; resolve shipping errors.
• Maintain accurate records following established guidelines.
• Review daily purchasing reports and system recommendations to determine quantities.
• Ensure electronic data interchange (EDI), automated stock replenishment, and order transmission to suppliers.
• Follow up with suppliers on order status and delivery; communicate information to impacted departments.
• Review supplier shipping error notices and take corrective actions.
• Assist in evaluating supplier performance regarding on-time delivery, fill rates, and costs.
