Job summary

SSP in Twinsburg, OH is hiring a Buyer/Planner to manage procurement, inventory, and supplier performance for components and services. You will collaborate with Engineering, schedule machining, and monitor POs to ensure materials arrive on time for manufacturing and customer demand.

The role requires manufacturing experience, solid ERP/MRP knowledge, and the ability to work with internal teams and external vendors to optimize supply chain performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (preferred).
• Minimum of 1-3 years working in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 1-2 years in planning, scheduling, or purchasing.
• ERP/MRP software experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and maintain purchase orders for components, subcontract services, and outside processes.
• Review MRP recommendations and convert requirements into POs; monitor open POs and address late deliveries.
• Maintain purchasing data in the ERP system, including pricing, lead times, and order quantities.
• Collaborate with Engineering regarding new product introductions, engineering changes, and supplier transitions.
• Create replenishment plans to maintain targeted inventory objectives.
• Schedule all machining work centers weekly and adjust schedules based on ERP recommendations.
• Regularly follow up with Vendors on PO status and deliveries to SSP.
• Provide lead times to Customer Service for quotes and orders.
• Data gathering, analysis, and weekly/monthly metric reporting.
