Job summary

Lithium Americas seeks a Buyer at its Winnemucca office to run the full purchasing cycle for site operations, maintenance, and projects. You will source, evaluate bids, issue POs, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

The role requires close collaboration with operations and finance to optimize cost and performance. Ideal candidates have 2–5+ years in high-volume procurement within heavy industry, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong ERP and Excel skills.

Qualifications

2–5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in mining, industrial manufacturing, construction, or similar heavy-industry environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
High attention to detail with accurate documentation and records.

Responsibilities

Source and procure materials, parts, equipment, and consumables per requisitions and demand plans.
Prepare RFQs, analyze bids, and support best-value purchasing decisions.
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to optimize cost and delivery.
Create, review, and issue POs in the ERP system with correct pricing and coding.
Track open POs, expedite urgent requirements, and manage delivery schedules.
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Finance to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
Maintain procurement records and support supplier onboarding and SRM metrics.
