Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a dedicated Buyer to support the production schedule by sourcing materials and managing supplier relationships in Conyers, GA. You will issue POs, monitor lead times, and collaborate with engineering and finance to optimize inventory and costs.

The role requires at least 2 years of purchasing experience, a bachelor’s degree (or 5 years of relevant work), and proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ purchasing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ relevant experience required.
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• CPIM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Issue POs daily in response to demand signals (Kanban, MRP, Min/Max).
• Expedite deliveries to ensure on-time production.
• Mitigate impact of pricing and lead time changes with other departments.
• Identify alternate materials with engineering if delivery delays or excess inventory occur.
• Maintain supplier relations and professional company image.
• Provide data on demand history and usage for supplier negotiations.
• Forecast future demand to suppliers based on historical data and market intel.
• Dispostion E&O material with finance and engineering.
