Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead procurement for direct materials, sub-assemblies, and equipment. You will collaborate with Production and Scheduling to ensure timely orders, optimal quantities, and lowest cost while minimizing inventory exposure.

Strong analytical skills, MRP experience, and ERP/Excel proficiency are required to optimize the supply chain and drive continuous improvement across supplier partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 8+ years purchasing experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong experience with MRP-driven purchasing and direct material inventory management.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel, with focus on process optimization.
• Ability to manage purchase orders, supplier delivery performance, and shortages.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of materials.
• Purchase goods and services in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets and KPIs.
• Ensure continuous supply and communicate supply risks to operations.
• Maintain current trade compliance data for applicable goods.
• Collaborate with Production and Scheduling teams to order items timely.
• Manage inventory for components for internal plants and third-party vendors.
• Arrange vendor drop-ship parts as needed.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and other departments.
• Implement supplier partnership models and participate in procurement projects.
