Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Conyers, GA is seeking a Senior Buyer to oversee procurement of direct materials, subassemblies, and production supplies. You will partner with Production and Scheduling to ensure timely orders at optimal cost while minimizing inventory exposure.

Strong MRP/ERP experience and data analytics are essential to optimize the supply chain. Responsibilities include supplier management, contract execution, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 8+ years of purchasing experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Strong experience with MRP-driven purchasing, production support, and direct material inventory management
• Proven ability to manage purchase orders, supplier delivery performance, and critical shortages in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel, with a focus on process optimization
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities under tight timelines

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with key suppliers of raw materials, sub-assemblies, production equipment, and supplies to ensure a consistent supply of materials to meet operating requirements
• Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets and to KPI’s
• Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate with any supply problems which may pose a risk of impact on business operations
• Responsible for maintaining current trade compliance data for applicable goods
• Work closely with the Production and Scheduling teams to ensure that all required items are ordered in a timely
• Manage inventory for the components assigned for both the internal plants as well as third party vendors
• Arrange for vendors to drop-ship parts as needed
• Work closely with other departments within the organization (e.g., Engineering, Quality, Production, NPI, Lab, Warehouse, Accounting, Finance etc.)
• Implement supplier partnership models
• Participate in Project teams involving materials procurement (direct, indirect and maintenance departments)
