Job summary

Amphenol Fiber Systems International in Allen, Texas is hiring a Buyer / Material Analyst to manage purchasing and inventory, support production, and work with suppliers. The role focuses on maintaining part data and optimizing delivery while supporting engineering during new product development.

You will coordinate with Production Planning, monitor order quantities, and ensure material availability to meet schedules. A strong analytical approach and experience with ERP/MRP are essential.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of purchasing, supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a complex environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of ERP/MRP.
• Travel up to 10% may be required.
• Knowledge of manufacturing costs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders to support production and customer support.
• Maintain system and part file integrity; update costs.
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure efficient ordering.
• Expedite materials to meet production schedules and minimum inventory.
• Collaborate with suppliers to improve delivery and lead times.
• Assist engineering in new product development for part requirements.
• Conduct supplier searches for fabricated and commercial products.
• Analyze data to optimize product flow and create production plans.
• Communicate deviations to Production Planning.
• Evaluate stocking levels and make recommendations.
• Provide feedback to sales on lead times.
• Ensure contract and timeline compliance.
• Support replenishment systems for all purchased materials.
• Handle PO data entry and file maintenance.
• Resolve receiving issues with POs and accounts payable.
