Job summary

Spartan Emergency Response (Spartan ER) seeks a Buyer II to source vendors, solicit quotes, and manage procurement for a medium scope of purchases. You will maintain stock levels, build supplier relationships, monitor orders, and strive for best prices and optimal quantities to support manufacturing needs.

The role requires strong negotiation, analytical skills, and experience with MRP, Excel, and supplier management to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in business preferred.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Use an MRP system to create and review Purchase Orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Expedite items on backlog and communicate with customer service and warehouse.
• Interact with suppliers to define PO details and delivery requirements.
• Maintain delivery confirmation in the system.
• Handle defective materials process and disposition.
• Review receiving and invoice discrepancies to ensure timely payments.
• Review open requirements and adjust orders as needed.
• Track supplier OTTR, OTIF, and lead time; ensure MOQ = EOQ.
• Engage with suppliers to resolve solvency issues.
