Job summary

Bunzl is seeking a Buyer to support the Purchasing Manager at the BPD KC Office in Riverside, MO. The role coordinates inbound purchase orders, oversees vendor relationships, and ensures timely, cost-effective transportation of items.

Responsibilities include improving inventory control, analyzing data to optimize turnover, and collaborating across internal teams to maintain smooth operations. Strong communication, Excel/Word/Outlook skills, and 3+ years in purchasing are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in purchasing or relevant business roles, preferably in a distribution environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Exceptional multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Experience with AS400 system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships
• Collaborate on inventory control strategies, including reviewing and eliminating obsolete materials
• Utilize data analysis to optimize inventory turnover and meet customer demands effectively
• Collaborate efficiently with internal departments to ensure seamless operations
• Undertake additional duties as assigned
