Job summary

Phoenix Defense LLC in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Buyer II to support cost analysis, supplier sourcing, and BOM validation in a dynamic aerospace environment.

You will partner with engineering and fabrication teams, manage quotes, monitor min/max inventory, and drive cost reductions while ensuring on-time delivery.

This role requires a bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of experience, with ERP familiarity and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
• 3-5 years of professional experience; degree/experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience in an AS9100 aerospace environment with ERP familiarity.
• Familiar with machining, metal fabrication, and related processes.
• Ability to read production plans and engineering documents.
• Strong Excel skills (formulas/macros) and MS Office utilization.
• Effective communication and supplier management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and release material cost workups for bids and proposals.
• Research new sources of supply for expansion into new markets.
• Research/purchase MRO supplies/services as directed by management.
• Update lead-times and supplier approvals; maintain min/max inventory.
• Assist procurement with cost reductions and value-add efficiencies.
• Collaborate with engineering to validate BOM and part numbers.
• Coordinate with fabrication suppliers for quality and on-time delivery.
• Communicate shortages with Purchasing Team; obtain quotes in time.
• Support market with quotes/bids and execute procurement tasks.
