Job summary

BAND-IT IDEX is seeking a Buyer to source and procure raw materials, components, and services to support production. You will ensure on-time delivery, optimize inventory and costs, and work with suppliers to maintain quality and compliance.

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain and Compliance, the role emphasizes negotiation, data management, and cross-functional collaboration within a manufacturing environment. Applicants should have 3–5+ years in procurement.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
• Experience in metal stamping/forming manufacturing industry, preferred.
• APICS or CPSM certification, preferred.
• Systems proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (JDE experience preferred).
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing & Procurement: Execute purchase orders for direct and indirect materials based on demand, forecast and replenishment signals.
• Supplier Management: Select, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships; maintain Approved Supplier List; perform scorecards.
• Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms to reduce costs and improve ROI.
• Expediting: Monitor open POs, follow up with suppliers, and expedite critical materials.
• MRP Data Management: Maintain purchasing data, lead times, MOQ, planning parameters and pricing in MRP system.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with production, planning, engineering, AP, and quality; support ECOs.
• Compliance: Adhere to ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and purchasing policies; support import compliance.
• Continuous Improvement: Track metrics like on-time delivery, PPV, inventory; participate in lean/Kaizen.
• Actively model IDEX values: Team, Trust, Excellence.
