Job summary

Ashton North LLC is seeking a Buyer to lead day-to-day procurement for plant and regional Operations. You will drive approved category strategies, ensure contract and purchasing compliance, and secure material availability while controlling cost and delivery performance.

The role emphasizes procure-to-pay execution, supplier follow-through, shortages resolution, and data integrity within the ERP system including Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; bachelor’s preferred in supply chain, business, purchasing, or related field.
• 2+ years experience in purchasing, materials, supply chain or manufacturing customer-service required.
• Excel proficiency and ERP purchasing processes; Dynamics 365 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary purchasing execution partner for designated facilities and their Operations leadership; understand production schedules and constraints.
• Execute sourcing strategies, negotiated contracts, approved supplier lists, pricing and specs established by Global/Regional Category leadership.
• Collaborate daily with Operations, Planning, Inventory, Quality, Finance/AP and Category Management; maintain clear escalation paths.
• Procure-to-pay discipline: Convert approved demand into PO orders; confirm terms, quantities, and delivery dates; monitor open orders.
• Contract and policy compliance: Use approved suppliers, negotiated terms, buying channels, and delegated authority; flag off-contract issues.
• Supplier execution and escalation: Secure acknowledgements, expedite material, resolve shortages, and coordinate recovery plans.
• Inventory and working capital: Review demand, lead times, safety stock, open-PO exposure; reduce inventory days without harming service.
• Supplier performance: Maintain delivery and defect data; implement scorecards for top suppliers.
• Cost and P&L impact: Validate pricing, identify leakage and savings opportunities; raise issues to leadership.
• Data and systems: Maintain ERP supplier/data integrity; support standardized reporting.
• Customer service: Provide Operations with status and recovery dates; reduce friction through standard processes.

Education

Associate's degree in any major, but a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, purchasing, or related discipline preferred.

2+ years of relevant purchasing, materials, supply chain or manufacturing customer-service experience
