Backburner Labs, Inc. in St. Paul, MN is seeking a hands-on Buyer to own purchasing and inventory. You will source from distributors and manufacturers, place and track POs, and partner with engineering, manufacturing, and finance to keep projects supplied and costs visible.

The role emphasizes owning supplier relationships, managing inventory, and improving purchasing processes within our ERP/MRP environment; prior experience with Dynamics 365 and Arena PLM is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on purchasing supporting engineering, manufacturing, or hardware products.
• Inventory experience: receiving, cycle counts, ERP reconciliation.
• Clear communication and ability to manage many orders without losing details.

Responsibilities

• Source electronic components, mechanical hardware, and indirect materials; request quotes and negotiate terms.
• Create and manage purchase orders from request through delivery; track open orders and costs.
• Improve purchasing workflows with finance; track project costs in ERP/MRP systems (Dynamics 365) and Arena PLM.
• Own manufacturing inventory accuracy; conduct cycle counts and reconcile ERP records.
• Coordinate shipping/receiving, returns, and freight claims as needed.
