J T in Seymour, CT is seeking a Buyer / Senior Buyer to drive procurement strategy, manage supplier relationships, and ensure material availability for manufacturing. This role demands independent prioritization, cross-functional communication, and ERP/MRP proficiency, preferably Infor.

You will partner with Purchasing, Program Management, and Production to optimize inventory, costs, and delivery performance while supporting KPI targets and continuous improvement.

Qualificações

• 3–5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience or equivalent
• Direct hands-on ERP/MRP experience; Infor ERP preferred
• Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Familiarity with high-mix manufacturing/electronics/EMS environments

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with Program Management to manage end-to-end supply chain for customer programs.
• Purchase materials, components, and services for production.
• Monitor and expedite open PO delivery dates; maintain inventory accuracy.
• Proactively mitigate material shortages to protect ATP commitments.
• Ensure procurement costs stay within baseline costs set by Sourcing.
• Participate in value engineering and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Negotiate pricing and terms to meet KPI targets.
• Manage excess inventory and interface with Program Management on variances.
• Oversee MRO and consigned material PO processes.
• Review and disposition non-conforming and non-receivable materials with Receiving/QA.
• Coordinate inventory availability and schedules across cross-functional teams.
• Execute special initiatives in line with governance and standards.
