Job summary

Fey Industries, with operations in Edgerton, MN and Sioux Falls, SD, seeks an experienced Buyer to anticipate problems, build supplier relationships, and support purchasing across both locations. The role focuses on data, inventory, and cross-functional teamwork to improve business performance.

The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years in purchasing or supply chain, ERP/MRP experience, and strong Excel and analytical skills. Travel between Edgerton and Sioux Falls is required.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of purchasing, procurement, materials planning, or supply chain experience.
• Experience working directly with suppliers and managing purchase orders.
• ERP/MRP experience.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly between our Edgerton, MN and Sioux Falls, SD locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities and purchase orders from start to finish.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Prevent material shortages and communicate supply risks early.
• Analyze inventory, usage trends, lead times, and supplier performance.
• Maintain purchasing and planning data within ERP/MRP systems.
• Drive continuous improvement through reporting, technology, automation, and AI tools.
• Partner with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Customer Service, and Accounting to support business objectives.
