Qualifications

• Two to four years of direct purchasing experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Three or more years of business experience.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems to manage purchasing activities.
• Epicor Kinetic and/or Passport experience preferred; cross-system work experience is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; able to sort, filter, compare, and review purchasing information.
• Understanding of purchase orders, material planning, lead times, inventory, and supplier delivery performance.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Clear, professional communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
• Sound judgment, ethical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing execution: review material requirements, place POs, obtain acknowledgments, maintain pricing, quantities, delivery dates.
• Navigate multiple systems and processes: Epicor, Passport, spreadsheets, manual reports; validate info and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain material availability: monitor open orders, shortages, supplier commitments; expedite or adjust orders as needed.
• Resolve supply disruptions: investigate constraints, develop recovery actions with suppliers and internal teams.
• Communicate proactively: keep scheduling, operations, and purchasing leadership informed of changes.
• Coordinate demand and ordering: partner with scheduling and plant operations to align production priorities.
• Support supplier performance: hold suppliers accountable to terms and delivery commitments.
• Assist with quality resolution: coordinate replacements, returns, credits with suppliers and quality.
• Identify improvement opportunities: cost savings, sourcing alternatives, process improvements.
• Maintain purchasing discipline: keep PO records current and follow approval requirements.
