Job summary

EMD Curtiss Wright Electro Mechanical is seeking a Buyer, Associate in Summerville, SC to handle routine purchasing tasks under supervision. You will review requisitions, place orders with approved suppliers, follow up on orders, and assist senior buyers with reports and expediting.

Qualifications include US citizenship, DoD clearance eligibility, a Bachelor’s in supply chain/engineering, and experience in manufacturing or procurement.

Qualifications

• US citizen required due to DoD requirements.
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearances.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business management or engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing or supply chain.
• Knowledge of material management and procurement processes.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Experience with Government contracting FAR/DFARS and related laws is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions and place orders with approved suppliers.
• Follow up on open orders.
• Assist senior buyers with reports and expediting.
• Evaluate bids and negotiate price, delivery, quality and service.
• Coordinate with accounting on supplier invoices.
• Support negotiations for major purchases with data gathering.
