Job summary

Mayer Brown LLP is seeking a Specialist: Business Development & Marketing in our Chicago office. You will collaborate with Advisory and Tax Practices to drive key initiatives and business plan objectives, ensuring timely, high‑quality support for client service and growth initiatives.

You will develop and execute marketing and BD programs, produce content, manage data quality, and support partnerships and events to enhance our market position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing, Business, Research, Communications or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required.
• Ability to learn and utilize firm databases and outside vendor databases quickly.
• Minimum of four years of demonstrated success in a marketing, research, management, and/or communications-related field.

Responsibilities

• Supports responses to RFPs and pitches with written proposals and presentation materials.
• Manages marketing and business development programs for assigned practice groups, including events, podcasts, videos, sponsorships, and social media campaigns with ROI reporting.
• Develops and maintains practice content (descriptions, brochures, PowerPoint decks, website/blog content, bios).
• Creates league table/industry survey content and handles surveys requests or submissions.
• Performs research, competitive intelligence, and identifies speaking opportunities for strategic planning.
• Collects matter data for transactions practice and maintains the matter database firm-wide.
• Tracks practice pipeline activity in the US.
• Provides ad hoc support to the transactions practice and liaises with lawyers to keep profiles up to date.
