Philadelphia, PA · Remote Full-time Director

The Strategic Business Development Director: Northeast will involve developing new commercial opportunities and forming new partnerships using a consultative sales approach. The role will be responsible for proactively developing and implementing a sales strategy by creating and sustaining strategic relationships/alliances with Strategic Accounts. This position is responsible for customer relationship development and conducting sales calls leading to contract. This position is a business building opportunity, and the successful candidate should be excited and eager to grow a business. The Strategic Business Development Director represents the organization and acts as a primary customer point of contact to our prospective customers. This role will provide ongoing feedback to management, product teams, and marketing.

Location

Candidates who currently reside in the Northeast Region within close proximity to a major airport preferred; or in the Eastern or Central time zone with close proximity to a major airport.

Will cover the Northeast Region within the following states: Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine.

Position is Hybrid: 30% Office (home office and/or office), 50% Travel (overnight), 20% Travel (local), includes additional work hours as necessary.

Responsibilities
  1. Customer Relationships
    1. Define target markets, build strategic market penetration plans and create account plans for targets.
    2. Utilize marketing campaigns, trade show contacts, and call plans to develop relationships with chief officers and appropriate department heads. Research market trends and critical information for respective territory.
    3. Develop and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through consistent high-quality interactions with customer management.
    4. Build long-term strategic alliances with a portfolio of accounts to continue to add value, and promote service offerings to identify and escalate commercial service.
    5. Build a wide and effective network of contacts inside and outside the organization.
  2. Negotiate and Close Business Opportunities
    1. Utilize sales process to define customer needs, forecast sales, and define financial consequences as the basis for pursuing opportunities.
    2. Create opportunity qualification documentation.
    3. Demonstrate sales cycle control.
    4. Collaborate and drive the creation of solution-based proposals.
    5. Schedule and deliver proposals.
    6. Make presentations and undertake public speaking with skill and confidence.
    7. Utilize closing and negotiating techniques.
    8. Respond quickly to the needs of an external buying committee.
  3. Leadership, Coaching, and Development
    1. Coordinate responsibilities, resources, project objectives, and performance.
    2. Provide leadership, coaching, and resources to inspire strong customer service, technical expertise, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
    3. Provide leadership and role modeling through community involvement and a commitment to living out the company’s core values.
    4. Develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
    5. Share expertise and knowledge with others.
  4. All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
  1. 10 years of business experience.
  2. 5+ years of business development or account management experience.
  3. Excited and passionate about growing a business.
  4. Knowledge of Clinical Engineering & Medical Device management is preferred.
  5. Ability to develop and manage a robust pipeline; control sales cycle.
  6. Notable achievements in creating opportunities and closing significant revenue-generating sales.
  7. Proven business development and project planning skills.
  8. Outstanding influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills to drive a collaborative culture at all levels.
  9. High-level presentation skills; able to present ideas to customers in a way that produces understanding and impact.
  10. Experience closing large, complex, strategic deals.
  11. Strong written, verbal, and presentational skills required.
  12. Ability to travel up to 50%, frequent travel both local and overnight.
Education and Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare management, or a related field or equivalent experience required.
  2. MBA preferred.
