Job Description:

Why Shockwave Medical?

Shockwave Medical is a fast-growing medical device company focused on revolutionizing the treatment of advanced cardiovascular disease. With the innovative Shockwave Reducer System, we are creating new opportunities for patients and physicians in the treatment of refractory angina – long-lasting, debilitating chest pain that cannot be controlled by traditional medicine or surgical procedures and affects millions of people worldwide. We work closely with the cardiology community to bring relief to these patients and improve their quality of life.

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Therapy Development Manager will be to collaborate directly with clinical trial sites to identify barriers to study enrollment and develop outreach, education, and patient identification initiatives that drive appropriate enrollment. This involves establishing mutually beneficial, long-term relationships with key physicians and their clinical staff. Success will depend on collaboration with internal partners and a willingness to experiment and learn.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develop relationships with healthcare professionals through outreach and education activities, including product demonstrations and conference participation.
  • Understand referral dynamics and create site-specific strategies to promote disease awareness and patient enrollment.
  • Identify unmet needs and develop programs to increase therapy awareness.
  • Pilot activities, share best practices, and scale successful programs.
  • Become an expert in disease state and clinical trials to assist healthcare providers with patient selection, referral timelines, protocol requirements, and clinical data.
  • Collaborate with clinical sites and teams to support clinical trial activities and investigators.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve clinical trial performance.
  • Provide feedback and insights from clinical trials to cross-functional teams.

What you will need (Requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in life sciences or related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in clinical, marketing, product management, brand strategy, sales, or medical education within the Medtech industry.
  • Clinical experience in interventional cardiology may substitute for some corporate experience.
  • Experience with novel therapies/devices and market development preferred.
  • Ability to build partnerships with hospital systems and key opinion leaders.
  • Extensive knowledge of physician outreach and education with a successful track record.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% within the assigned geographic area.
