Job summary

Winston-Salem State University seeks a Director of Budget, Financial Planning, and Shared Services to lead budgeting and financial analysis across all funds. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Services, this role will manage the all-funds operating budget and launch a campus-wide shared services model to improve efficiency and financial literacy.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance and at least five years of progressive budgeting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressive accounting, budgeting, and fiscal management experience.
• Master’s degree preferred and supervisory leadership experience.
• Experience with higher education budgeting and familiarity with Banner or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct budget development and financial planning for all-funds operating budget.
• Lead financial analysis, multi-fund forecasting, and executive reporting.
• Develop and implement the shared services model to train campus units.
• Oversee transition from legacy spreadsheets to Banner budget module.
• Collaborate on three-to-five-year financial planning and sustainability.
• Liaise with UNC system office and OSBM for policy guidance and compliance.
• Supervise a four-person team (two budget analysts and two senior business officers).
