The City of Decatur seeks a strategic finance leader to oversee the annual budget and guide fiscal policy for a community of 70,000 residents. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will translate complex financial data into actionable insights for executive leadership and elected officials.

You will lead budget development, financial reporting, and compliance, drive revenue strategies, and strengthen transparency to support infrastructure, public safety, and quality of life.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA, CGFM, or related professional certification preferred.

Mansioni

• Lead development and administration of the City’s annual operating budget.
• Monitor revenues and expenditures; prepare forecasts and variance analyses.
• Prepare financial reports in compliance with GAAP, GASB, and fund accounting.
• Support ACFR preparation and ensure statutory/compliance adherence.
• Oversee taxes, licenses, and revenue-related processes.
• Advise Director of Finance on system improvements and internal controls.
