Job summary

William & Mary is seeking a Budget Planning Analyst to support the Office of Finance and Administration in long‑term financial planning using Workday and Adaptive Planning. The role focuses on forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for E&G, auxiliaries, and restricted funds.

Responsibilities include maintaining models, developing new forecasts, ensuring data integrity between systems, and training campus personnel on AFPA usage. A background in finance or business is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or closely related field or the equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to review operating budgets to analyze trends and maintain expenditure controls.
• Advanced skills in Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and reporting of financial data.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/update existing institutional financial forecasts, budget models, and reports.
• Assist in developing new institutional financial forecasts, reports, and budget models; ensure data integrity between Workday ERP and Adaptive planning.
• Provide training to users campus‑wide on the Adaptive planning application.
• Assist in implementing new functionality in the Adaptive planning application.
• Coordinate with IT to test and implement new Workday/AFPA versions.
