Job summary

Winthrop University, reporting to the AVP for Finance & Business, seeks a Budget Manager to develop and maintain budgets, analyze data and trends, and prepare regular and ad hoc reports. You will lead budget development, coordinate with the budget committee, and reconcile budgets to board-approved figures.

Requires a Bachelor’s in accounting, 5+ years’ experience, Excel proficiency, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; at least 15 semester hours in accounting-related courses.
• Experience and understanding of budgeting and financial management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the budget development process, including communication, training, and budget committee coordination.
• Reconcile loaded budget to board-approved budget.
• Maintain reports including scenario modeling and trend analysis.
• Prepare cabinet and board-level ad hoc budget reports and documentation.
• Serve as backup for entry, roll-forward, and vacancy maintenance.
• Collaborate on continuous improvement projects.
